The International Accreditation for Counsellors (IAC) serves as a cornerstone for professionals in the fields of the counselling, coaching, therapy, mentoring and training, ensuring accreditation, professional development and growth, ethical conduct, and high standards in education and practice. We believe in creating a transparent and accountable framework through a consistent Code of Conduct and comprehensive Scope of Practice. Established in 2006, IAC is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) with United Nations consultative status. IAC advances the development of counselling, coaching, therapy, mentoring and training, in order to improve people’s lives and well-being. The IAC is the only international organization that focuses solely on accrediting professional counseling centers on higher academic campuses. IAC accreditation indicates that a counseling coaching, therapy, mentoring and training center’s services meet the highest established standards in the field.

AIMS
We aim to enhance the reputation and credibility of the profession by influencing decision-making in political, institutional and social systems. Important, high-level policy decisions on mental health, education, social issues, and work, are made at the intergovernmental level (e.g., in United Nations and Regional Supranational bodies) and it is essential to ensure the appropriate inclusion of counselling, coaching, therapy, mentoring and training. Policy decisions have a direct influence on the approaches that national governments take in these areas and impact you, your clients, and the counselling profession. In most of the world, there is significant dissatisfaction with the status quo and the lack of recognition of the importance of counselling, coaching, therapy, mentoring and training.
TRAINING & EDUCATION PROVIDERS ACCREDITATION
IAC provides accreditation to the education training services providers, Academies, Centers, Agencies and organizations that provide different kinds of training courses in several fields and majors such as managerial, social, humanitarian, courses, continuing learning, blended learning and all other types of training and scopes. The accreditation is based on the International Standard (ASTM E2659).
Getting accredited requires training agencies to demonstrate they are competent, that their trainers are qualified, and that the curricula meet the requirements. The accreditation process involves an evaluation of the training providers corporate structure, facilities, staffing, curriculum, product development and administration.
MARK of QUALITY
IAC is an independent, well-established, and globally recognized accreditation body. Once accredited, an organization can display the appropriate IAC logo and accreditation statement on their publicity materials.
LISTING OF TRAINING PROVIDERS ON THE DIRECTORY OF ACCREDITED ORGANIZATIONS
Accreditation by IAC means that accredited organizations will be listed on the ICA Directory of Accredited Organizations –IACAO, providing information for external agencies, partners, and prospective trainees about the organization and courses offered.
